Hi there, and welcome on my blog. My name is Gwen, I’m a French stay-at-home mama, living in sunny Brisbane, Australia. Our family is made up of Miss P (4), Little E (also known as Little Dude, 2) and our adorable 11-year-old doggie, Jano. Our home is a bi-cultural and bilingual one and with a toddler who is learning to speak, it leads to some very funny and cute incidents.

Crafting and baking are what I do in my spare time.

I’m a self-taught sewer. I needed a creative outlet after I decided to become a stay-at-home mum and sewing was the perfect solution. I got to make some cute clothes for my daughter and save money in the process. As soon as I first used my sewing machine, I was hooked!

I also knit (a lot!), do a little bit of embroidery and some very, very, very basic crochet. I want to learn more about crochet though, now I just need to find some time to fit it all in!

I got my love of crafting from my mum. When I was little we spent a lot of time together, knitting and chatting. She’s the one who taught me everything I know about crafts, except sewing. She’s the Queen of crafts, my mum. She does EVERYTHING. You can see some of the things she made for the kids on this blog and if you’re interested in seeing more, go check her blog. It’s all in French, but you can still see the pics :)

This blog is a place for me to share the things I make, bake and talk about our family. There are some tutorials and recipes… I hope you like it!

Hi there ~ I just found your blog & am really enjoying it. Your daughter is beautiful. I have one that is 8 1/2 months. I am working on the Bettsy Kingston Crossover Pinny & Nappy Cover & I’ve never used one of her patterns before & I’m wondering if she includes the seam allowances on the pattern or if you have to add it?? I’m trying to get back into sewing & LOVING Bettsy patterns. I’d love to hear from you if you get a chance. ~ Kristen

    • Hi Kristen, thanks a lot for your message :-)
I don’t have the pinny one but the Bettsy Kingston patterns that I’ve used always included the seam allowance. I think she usually uses a 5/8″ (1.5cm) seam allowance. Her patterns are just fantastic. They’re so easy to put together and she makes very detailed step-by-step instructions. As a beginner sewer I had no problems whatsoever with them. Have fun with the pinny and nappy cover. Do you have a blog? Would love to see the finished product! :-)

  2. Wow Gwen! You are so very creative! I’m seriously impressed !!!! Have agreat Thursday with lil Pops xox
