I couldn’t resist giving these a go too. Like for the brown sugar scrubs, I made a test-batch first, then slightly modified the process and ingredients to improve it a little.
Here’s how I made them:
Mix 2.5 cups of white sugar with the finely grated zest of one lemon. Add 4 tablespoons of lemon juice and mix well, making sure there are no lumps. Add 1/2 cup of extra light olive oil (I recommend using light oil as it doesn’t have as strong a flavour, smell and colour as the normal olive oil and suits the scrub better).
